House Rules: Keeping Debates Civil

Disagreement is the point of this site. Disrespect is not. These are the few rules that keep the conversation worth having.

• Argue the idea. Personal attacks, slurs and harassment are not allowed.
• Stay on the question. If a reply has nothing to do with the debate, it belongs somewhere else.
• Be honest about sources. Do not invent quotes or figures.
• Report, do not retaliate. If something crosses the line, use the Report button and let the team handle it.

Debate hosts can flag replies in their own debates, and the team gives those flags priority. Thank you for helping make this a good place to argue.
